At Envision we aim for kids and adults to eat healthy, enjoy what they eat, and be happy in their best bodies. Our approach is simple and practical:

 v
We coach parents on how to role model the healthful habits they want to see in their children and how to play a supportive role in shaping healthy eating habits at home

v  We empower kids and teens to take care of their health and accomplish this by using positive food messaging, motivational techniques, and user-friendly nutrition education

v  Our programs and meal plans are not pre-packaged but customized based on the challenges and life situations

We Love what we do and we do what we love!

The "I Love my body" concept

Two unhealthy and opposite alarming trends are emerging in tweens and teens -- obesity and eating disorders.  The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) report that between 1999 and 2004, there was an increase in the number of overweight kids.  The American Academy of  Child and Adolescent Psychiatry report that the average age of eating disorder sufferers is dropping rapidly, with peak onset of 11-13 years old.

At Envision Nutrition, we believe the message is really about being fit and healthy, and less about being obsessive with the number on the scale.  A first step in being healthy is accepting, embracing and loving yourself for who you are. Experts agree that the worse you feel about your body, the less likely you are to take charge and engage in good habits. Making an effort to eat better and be active will also translate to a healthier body every time. Fourteen year old Kayla says it best, "I feel a little self conscious about my weight, but I accept myself and I'm learning to be consistent with eating better and exercise."

Expert tips for the best body:

  • Speak positively to yourself in the mirror and to kids. Don't speak negatively about your own body in front of your kids
  • Be active everyday
  • Drink lowfat milk, water, and a little 100% fruit juice
  • Get 8 hours of sleep
  • Make half your plate fruits and veggies
